Privacy policy

Cobb Light Co. collects only the information we need to prepare estimates, provide holiday lighting services, respond to questions, and understand how people find our website.

Information you share with us

When you request an estimate, we may collect your name, email address, mobile number, installation address, requested lighting areas, project notes, home details, and an optional front-of-home photo. If you contact us separately, we also keep the information in that conversation.

How we use it

We use estimate information to review the property, prepare preliminary and confirmed pricing, contact you about the request, schedule and provide service, maintain business records, and improve our estimating process. We do not sell your personal information.

Customer photos stay private

Photos submitted with an estimate are stored in private cloud storage and are available only through a long, unlisted link used with the estimate record. We use them only to prepare, review, and provide the service you requested. If you choose a design preview, we also send your photo and lighting selections to our AI image provider to create it. Photo upload and the preview are optional. We do not post customer photos publicly or use them in advertising, social media, or other marketing unless we ask for and receive separate permission.

Optional AI design previews

When you request a lighting preview, we send your uploaded photo and lighting selections to OpenAI’s image API. We do not include your name, email, phone number, or typed address in that preview request. Details visible in the photograph, such as a house number, remain in the image. Choose a photo without people, vehicle plates, or other private details. Generated previews are stored privately and require your private estimate token to retrieve. Keep your estimate session private.

OpenAI’s API data is not used for model training by default. Its standard abuse-monitoring retention can be up to 30 days, with policy exceptions; this is not a zero-retention service. See OpenAI’s data controls. You may request deletion of the photos and previews we store by contacting us.

Service providers

We may share information with service providers that help us operate the business, such as our website host, cloud storage, mapping and property-imagery services, estimating tools, and customer management system. They receive only the information needed to perform their work for us.

Website analytics and advertising

We may use Google Analytics, Google Ads, and the Meta Pixel to measure website visits and whether an advertising campaign led to a completed estimate request. These services may use cookies or similar technology and receive information such as your browser, device, pages visited, referring site, and campaign codes. We do not send your name, contact details, street address, estimate notes, or photos in these measurement events. You can limit this activity through your browser’s cookie controls and the privacy or advertising settings offered by Google and Meta.

How long we keep information

We keep estimate and customer records only as long as reasonably needed to follow up, provide service, maintain tax and business records, resolve disputes, and support returning customers. You may ask us to delete information that we are not legally or operationally required to retain.

Your choices

You may ask what information we have about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete eligible information. You may also ask us to stop marketing calls or texts at any time. Transactional messages about an active estimate or service may still be necessary.
